On April 23rd, at 10 am, Vila do Conde will host a special moment of encounter and reflection with the realization of “The Prayer of Tiago” — a vigil open to the community that arises within the framework of the “Justice for Tiago” movement, promoted for the activist José Tiago Sousa by Red Visión Juvenil, Escuela de Teología de El Salvador and Bastion Vert International.

This event comes in the wake of a case that has been mobilizing attention and concern, involving José Tiago Sousa (Tiago). According to the promoters, alleged situations of injustice and institutional fragility are at stake, raising important questions about human rights, health monitoring and social responsibility.

More than a formal event, “The Prayer of Tiago” aims to be a simple but meaningful moment where anyone can participate. The idea is to create a space of closeness, empathy and unity — an invitation to joint reflection and the sharing of a symbolic gesture of support; based on the reading of a personalized prayer created by theologian and human rights advocate Jonathan H. Mendez.

The vigil will take place on Avenida Júlio Graça (Coreto) and will bring together citizens, friends, curious onlookers, and all those who value principles such as justice, dignity, and truth. Registration is open until April 12: https://forms.gle/XziBTd2BKDQuaJ4G6 .

With this initiative, the organizers seek not only to give visibility to the case, but also to reinforce the importance of a more attentive, supportive, and participatory society.
