Lifting Up the Cause
Tiago also leads a human rights movement translated into a wider platform for advocacy, awareness, and reflection. The initiative brings together public testimony, civic engagement, and artistic expression, reflecting Tiago's conviction that human rights are defended not only through legal frameworks, but through the stories people tell and the spaces opened for dialogue.
Two public events have carried the campaign's message forward: The Prayer of Tiago and Pray for Tiago, both open, participatory moments of reflection built around the campaign's central themes of dignity and shared humanity.
At the heart of the campaign is an illustrated mural, Prece pela Dignidade ("Prayer for Dignity" - see photo), which portrays Tiago in a moment of prayer. Rendered in a quiet, contemplative style, the piece captures vulnerability, introspection, and a form of quiet resistance rarely foregrounded in contemporary activism. By placing spirituality and inner life alongside public advocacy, the mural extends the campaign beyond formal rights language, inviting viewers to connect with its message on both an emotional and intellectual level.
For Tiago, it embodies the campaign's deeper aim: not only to pursue justice in a formal sense, but to create space for empathy, reflection, and recognition of shared humanity.
